Transformation Teachers Programme

I have been playing around with IDVD, simple but great to be able to title ur DVDs and organise video clips as well, was hoping to use my own music after sychcronising my music on my Ipod with Itunes but no luck yet.

I seem to have had a very frustrating time today, probably achieved a few things considering the amount of time I have spent on the computer today I could have done better. For some reason my laptop took too long to connect to the internet and I was switching between windows and Mac, anyway eventually I was able to connect. Then I decided to transfer a word document on to keynote, that wasn’t too bad only that I used mac and I found this very challenging because I was not used to it. By the way when I transfered the word document, word was installed and it said I have a month’s trial after which I will have to buy —– not sure what this is about. I wanted to insert music - had no success doing that, also wanted to change a lot of things but only managed to change one of the slides. But I must say I quite like the idea of keynote rather than powerpoint and I have so many ideas going through my mind as to what I can use it for in my lessons – but guess what I don’t have an interactive whiteboard yet and not sure how soon I’ll get one. Well at least I know how to use Keynote so I’ll work on how to adapt it another time. My boys were so caught up with Crazy talk and garage band last night and recorded some rap music – what can you do with this in the classroom?? Not sure yet, well I also tried to blog on the fronter website and I don’t know how, I was able to read my blog and I could access other participants, I am blogging using my original laptop. Well  I have spent enough time on the computer I think I must log off, hard to stop - so much to explore!!

Reflecting on the today’s training I thought it was excellent, I really enjoyed it especially because it was hands on, still continued to explore the tools after I got home, at the momment my boys are recording some funny songs on crazy talk and they are loving it.

We are at the training and it is brilliant, playing with the tools Michael and my self have been playing around taking photos using the apple built in isight accessed through microsoft. Been on various websites its fun now I have to think of how I can use these tools in my teaching.

First experience with the digital camera

Great experience using the Cannon Powershot camera, easy and straightforward and also easy to upload pictures on Flicker, generally rewarding. The quality of the pictures were excellent, some of my video clips were good. However some were not so good, in fact i deleted the first one but this probably has to do with my skills in operating the camera, which I hope will improve with time.
