Great experience using the Cannon Powershot camera, easy and straightforward and also easy to upload pictures on Flicker, generally rewarding.

First experience with the digital camera

Was tired so went to bed after I made dinner and slept but woke up in the middle of the night and felt fresh so I decided to have a look at the camera so that I can use it at school today. I was a little bit worried I will find it challenging. I started by reading parts of the manual then I set the time and date and fiddled around with it, it had some similarities to a new DVD camcorder i purchased recently which made it easier. Then I decided to log on to flicker this did not take as long as I thought. Then I tried to log on to Edublog but was unable to log on after a number of attempts. I mailed Judy and she sorted this for me immediately – this also proved that the support promised is instant and at hand which is brilliant. 

Anyway I was determined to use the camera I school this week as much as possible though I was worried about the pupils reactions to their photos being taken or being video recorded and of course that was a bit challenging but was able to settle them and win most of them over with humour for instance some of the video clips show their attempts to hide their faces. But I successfully played around with the camera and the video in four lessons I am hoping to use it again next week as much as possible. In fact I am enjoying it, it is really fun and proving to be an exciting experience.

Comparing my experience in just two days  -  I have so many pictures and a number of video clips with the struggle I had to go through last year to record my lessons and transfer them on to a DVD player/ computer and to get just a few pictures this is amazing. I knew it was possible and my camcorder is doing a similar job because it is Cannon and I would have eventually learnt a few things but not at the speed in which I have progressed in just two days.

It’s fantastic I’m loving it and looking forward to more exciting experiences.
