Digi memo

I tried to upload a blog using the digimemo but the writing came out really big I wonder why, anyway I decided to delete the post it took over the whole page I wonder what I did wrong. But I am having alot of fun with my Year 11s and I must say this is because I just have a small number of pupils to work with – some have exams, some in revision classes etc. For instance today they listened to the podcast and they loved it , I was worried about it and that has given me more confidence in producing more revision podcasts. also they started working on a feedback session based on a related revision practical lesson - 2 groups are using the digimemo to record their findings and one group will use garage band. One of my pupils is so keen to produce something on garage band because he is really into music and said he will try to produce something good and he actually hopes he can be famous through this if i put it on the podcast site. I will try not to be too excited about this based on the fact that I have very little time left with this group. This pupil just thinks it is a great idea because he speaks very little English he sings professionaly and just thinks he can learn alot if he can put some work on his MP3 player. It is still a struggle because I have not got a projector I have to borrow one each time I need it, and even after all my effort to get one set up sometimes things go wrong and it wastes so much time and it is difficult to get a technician to fix things. Also I have no secure place in my room so I worry about the kit and sometimes decide not to bring some equipment to school or to use some equipment.

Bisi I’m sorry that you are having difficulties with the projector still but hang in there, things will get sorted eventually. I’m glad you are using the digimemos please add to the digimemo blog re your experiences.

It’s great when the pupils are enthusiastic and want to do more! I think that the use of new technology has a particular place in supporting and inspiring our EAL pupils … I have found that it has been particularly beneficial for them, perhaps partly because there are fewer written words and more images … maybe not?! … what do you think?! Your work sounds really exciting. Look forward to hearing more about it on Monday!

Your blog has gone quiet for sometime now. try and add all the interesting stuff you’ve been doing with your yr11. You are my inspiration so don’t give up!
