Success at last

I am so excited that at last I have been able to convert my comic life files and uploaded them onto flicker. Thanks to Judy who patiently took me through the process, it is a big deal to me so please bear with me I am a complete novice. One more problem with this though, Flickr is not accepting the API end point I am entering to connect it to my blog, I hope to get this sorted tomorrow so that I can add them to my blog. I quite enjoyed today’s training because some of my problems have been highlighted and I think I do understand the applications a bit more. I hope to do some more work in the next few days. Google video is unable to accept new uploads at the momment so  I am unable to try this.

Initially I thought I was doing okay but all of a sudden I seemed to be experiencing one problem after the other, nothing seemed to work. In fact I have not done much for a while due to my frustrations and discouragement. Of course I will go back to it but I needed a break. But thanks to the communication system and how it has been set up I can see it will be very hard to give up due to the support and encouragement I am receiving from Judy, Ruth and other participants such as Sue and Tessa. Anyway iIwill try and follow all the instructions given and I am hoping I will make some progress. Having said that I still keep having loads of ideas I hope they will be possible when I eventually get to understand the computer and the applications. By the way I actually called my brother on saturday using skype and decided to turn the camera on. I had the account activated previously but was not bothered to use it and I didn’t have a web cam but with this computer it was fun, unfortunately because he didn’t have his webcam on, I could’t see him but he could see me. He is an ICT technician working in a school and his wife is a teacher working in South East, they were so impressed by what our borough is doing and by the Macbook. But I must say when he came to see me with another brother of mine who is into computers as well, they found using the Mac book challenging and that made me feel a little better and the affirmation that the computer just needs getting used to.

Attempted using comic life, produced something boring I think, but it is great for provoking thinking skills. I am finding it difficult to upload my DVD clips on google and also uploadiing on edublog i wonder what I am doing wrong, so I am going to try to upload my comic life work on edublog hopefully i’ll succeed. No success with it yet, Judy please can you tell me how i can upload my DVD clips on google, and how I can upload on to edublog.

I have been playing around with IDVD, simple but great to be able to title ur DVDs and organise video clips as well, was hoping to use my own music after sychcronising my music on my Ipod with Itunes but no luck yet.

I seem to have had a very frustrating time today, probably achieved a few things considering the amount of time I have spent on the computer today I could have done better. For some reason my laptop took too long to connect to the internet and I was switching between windows and Mac, anyway eventually I was able to connect. Then I decided to transfer a word document on to keynote, that wasn’t too bad only that I used mac and I found this very challenging because I was not used to it. By the way when I transfered the word document, word was installed and it said I have a month’s trial after which I will have to buy —– not sure what this is about. I wanted to insert music - had no success doing that, also wanted to change a lot of things but only managed to change one of the slides. But I must say I quite like the idea of keynote rather than powerpoint and I have so many ideas going through my mind as to what I can use it for in my lessons – but guess what I don’t have an interactive whiteboard yet and not sure how soon I’ll get one. Well at least I know how to use Keynote so I’ll work on how to adapt it another time. My boys were so caught up with Crazy talk and garage band last night and recorded some rap music – what can you do with this in the classroom?? Not sure yet, well I also tried to blog on the fronter website and I don’t know how, I was able to read my blog and I could access other participants, I am blogging using my original laptop. Well  I have spent enough time on the computer I think I must log off, hard to stop - so much to explore!!
